There is at least one day a week when I feel like I can’t keep trying …
Angela Duckworth, Ph.D. is a research scientist who has done extensive studies to find the “secret to success”.
Her research is dedicated to finding the personality characteristics, lifestyle elements, intelligence levels, and socioeconomic factors that contribute to some people being successful – while others are not.
Her findings? There is only one thing that will make one person successful and another person not.
And, that is the amount of “grit” a person has. In other words, a person’s willingness to keep trying.
The only thing that is standing in the way of you and the success that your mentor or person you look up to has realized – is your willingness to keep trying.
It’s that simple. If you keep trying, you will succeed.
While we each have our own idea of what success looks like. Every single one of us has the ability to achieve it.
According to Dr. Duckworth and her book “The Power Of Passion And Perseverance” – as long as you keep trying … success is inevitable.
So, what happens when you have one of those days where you just don’t want to try?
“Keep trying” doesn’t necessarily mean keep trying what hasn’t been working. It just means don’t give up. Don’t stop until you feel satisfied or content … even if that means NEVER giving up, no matter what level of success you’ve reached.
The biggest struggle that I have found is staying in the moment. I want to be making huge strides each day in my productivity and see my business grow exponentially.
I also have three kiddos who need me and my own self-care to prioritize.
I have to stay very mindful that, no matter what I am working on in the moment, it is helping me reach my goals.
Whether it is a goal for my businesses or my babies – everything that I spend my time on is important.
So, for you, my darling dear, who is reaching for a bit of light in the dark tunnel, I have compiled some of my most favorite inspirational quotes.
These quotes help to bring me back to center and get in the right mindset when I am overwhelmed and stressed about not making progress fast enough.
I have many of these written down on small bits of stationery and placed all around my house. When I get to the bottom of the q-tip dish, there is a quote paper that says “The World Needs Your Message”
When I open the freezer door, there is a quote paper on the back wall of the freezer that says, “Don’t Ever Give Up”.
I put them in random places because I want them to catch my attention when I am in my “robot mode” just buzzing through my day and stuck in my own negative thoughts.
Pick a couple from the list and write each down on a piece of paper. Then, put the pieces of paper in various places around your house, in your car, in your office or workspace.
Put them anywhere that you will stumble across one when you need it the most.
